Yesterday I spent eleven hours helping my brother Jay become a container gardener. The original plan was to show up with a few supplies, have lunch, and spend two hours tops setting up. In and out. Back to work by 2pm.

... especially when it is initiated by plant loss. To be clear these plants will not be living in THAT garden. They are for my community plot and the roof.

The garlic mustard population is really getting out-of-hand at the community garden this year. I've discovered loads of it in unused areas of disturbed, lousy soil and it is expanding rapidly into the edges around plot beds. Botanical Photography by Gayla Trail
