Emira: Vancouver, Canada

Bio: Emira would happily spend countless hours in her garden, but tends to spend most of her time in front of the computer as partner in the Vancouver website design firm Raised Eyebrow. In the sunmmer of 2005 she became a home (and garden) owner, and so far rescuing and unearthing neglected plants is by far her favorite renovation project. While she is certainly a sucker for a nursery or a great seed catalogue, she prefers plants that have stories or people attached to them, and loves sharing cuttings and transplants with gardening pals. She never ventures into the dirt without her gardening clogs or her feline companion.

Garlic Lessons Learned

The only remaining bulbs I had on my list to plant for the Fall was my garlic. Planting out the garlic required a bit more preparation as I had to clean up some space in my veggie beds getting rid of finished beans, cukes and some arugula that

Back at the end of June I was pretty darned excited about the prospect of growing some hard beans in my back yard. I was excited about this for two reasons: first, new gardening experiment = fun; and second, the idea of being able to actually grow

Hanna’s Tomato Tastings 2006

Another Anemone Attempt
