Daily Botanical: Cosmos Love

It’s time again to spread the cosmos love around. They’re everywhere right now.
Yet again I am charmed. I blew three Polaroids on cosmos the other day. That’s more than 6 bucks spent admiring a flower that can self-seed into a thin sliver of cracked concrete.
Worth every penny, I’d say.

I’d say so too. This is STUNNING. Definitely print worthy. Someday (you know, in your spare time), I hope you’ll consider opening up a print shop. I would TOTALLY BUY THIS ONE.

I think there is nothing more magical than seeing one of these bright beautiful flowers bursting from the concrete.

Wow oh wow. That’s almost TOO gorgeous. I love cosmos, and that’s not only the best photo I’ve seen of them, but also one of the very best Polaroids I’ve ever seen. Six bucks, indeed!

I love Cosmos, have them growing in my back yard, but they don’t proliferate like that here in Sacramento. Hot and dry.
What is the secret to taller more beautiful flowers?

*Swoon* I love cosmos too.

I’m all about the cosmos love. The deep magenta ones you have here are the starmakers, though. That, with the right balance of white, makes the inevitable wave of pinky mauve much more “palette”-able.

I planted some cosmos from seed this year on the side of my house and was excited to see they germinated in the dusty dirt in that corner…but then the ants found them. They’ve been covered in ants the last few weeks and are now all dying. I guess I’ll try again next year.
That ant hill causes nothing but problems (and they hurt when they bite).
