These deep, lush violas are my favourite variety of the season. I bought this plant from Colette at Urban Harvest. They weren’t cheap, but they were worth it. They seem to be healthier than my other violas with very dark green leaves and lots of flowers that keep coming.
I generally don’t grow violas from seed since they’re so affordable, but am going to try to save these and see what I get next year.
Those are some fantastic violas. I assume they’re the annual variety?

As far as I know all violas are perennial… we just grow them like annuals in this climate.
I haven’t checked but she might have some. Check the website. She’s got a new permanent store location.

I have some violas that come up again year after year. They do reseed themselves elsewhere in the garden (also in the lawn, which I also appreciate), and if I look carefully, I can recognize the seedling forms and not weed them out. Mine are standard purple with a yellow center. Yours are gorgeous and well worth what extra you paid.
I’ve also found my violas come back each year…that is if I leave the ground alone and alow it to happen.
I’ve never seen that variety. They are fantastic. If you run across a seed seller with these please share! :-)
