Daily Botanical: Unknown Flower (San Francsico)

I took this picture back in April on that trip to San Francisco. That one where I ate all the sushi. Delicious sushi. Good god, I’m hungry right now.
And here’s where I admit that I have absolutely no idea what this is. I’m at a total loss. Anyone know?

It looks a little like Ruellia, Mexican petunia, but with different leaves..

I was going to say what Samantha said…but she said it first. There’s lots of different kinds of Ruellia, though–so it might be some variety of it.

I know for sure that plant is the epitome of invasive, it’s growing like crazy in my backyard- It takes over the seedlings growing in seed pods, I have to pull it out of nearly all my pots, ’tis odd….aand, I can’t put a name with the beast.
I’ll have to ask around.
