Before and After - Strawberry Canister

This is what it looked like today. There was a third ripe strawberry this morning but a certain someone (hint: rhymes with Gavin) got to it before I could take some photos.

What it looked like at planting time a few weeks ago.

Turns out that plants, they grow!

   I love the combination of plants! Beautiful.
   I also have strawberries, but in my case it wasn’t my partner who beat me to the first one. It was my dog!

   I love how the runners stream over the side. So pretty.

   mmm this really makes me long to grow strawberries again. Out of season here, getting too hot, but soon enough.

   I kept losing strawberries from my table top bags as well. I accused all sorts of people until I caught my dog Buddy standing up there and helping himself!

   I was out for a walk yesterday night in the East End of Toronto (on Gerrard, just east of Carlaw) and there, at the crest of the hill (on the south side of the street), was a City of Toronto ‘flower arrangement’ or paved parkette with a raised bed if you will. Upon closer inspection, the vast majority of foliage were in fact, strawberry plants. Furthermore, in about a week, there will be a mountain of fresh berries (the majority are still white). If anyone here lives in Toronto and are in the east end in the near future they should check it out! I have no idea why the City of Toronto decided to plant strawberries but I can assure you it was a tasty treat for those of us who keep our eyes out for edibles whislt walking!

   Wow, that pot looks beutiful! I’m always trying to match up colors like that but it never looks natural!
