I want to talk about one of my favourite gardening books. It’s called “New Kitchen Garden” by Adam Caplin. I bought it as a bargain book for $9.99 but in all honesty it might would have been worth the original price. (Holy moley, Chapter’s has it on sale for $2 right now…no wonder it’s temporarily unavailable to order online!)

It’s some of the best gardening porn out there, in my humble opinion.

It’s filled with beautiful photographs of vegetable and herb gardens, organic gardening tips, information about growing veggies from seed, a blurb about how to grow all kinds of different kinds of vegetables, and a recipe section in the back.

When I look sadly out the back window at the vast expanse of nothingness that is our snowy Ontario winter, I take comfort in the pages of books like these, planning out in my mind how to replicate the feeling these photos give me in my own garden.
