Presentation: Why Gardening Rules
I’m giving a short 30 minute presentation tomorrow evening (Tuesday) for the University of Toronto Community Garden Group as a part of “Alternative Frosh Week.” As a former poor university student I just love the fact that University campuses now have community gardens. Homegrown, fresh food sure beats kraft dinner.
I’ll be speaking about my experiences and love for gardening, and why I want to see everyone taking up the trowel. I’ve spoken to many groups about this over the last year and realize I should probably post something here for the site.

Hey Gayla, love your site! I have been checking it out for the several years and feel it really suits my personality as a gardener.
You really know how to make gardening cool and appealing. I have felt that there is always a push on gardening on children and older adults and there is no focus on teenagers and young adults. I also feel at that age generally there is a loss of appreciation for growing food and visually pleasing plants. How fanatasic for you as a young adult to present the wonderful world of gardening to university students. Cheers to that! I would love to have been there.
