Chia Screech
At Christmas in 2002, I received a Chia Head as a gift. So over a year later, I am finally getting around to growing it. Since I couldn’t help noticing that Chia Head bears an uncanny resemblance to Dustin Diamond aka Screech from Saved by the Bell, I have named this project:
Chia Screech
Day 1
Did you know that a seed packet contains enough seeds to grow Screech’s hair 3 times? Damn, I’m not sure I like alfalfa sprouts that much. What can you do with besides throw them in a salad? Share your favorite sprout recipe, please.
Anyway, the first thing you have to do is drown Screech for 24 hours. Chia Fact: The Chia Screech is handmade by artisans using techniques passed down from the Indians of acient Mexico. Each Screech is sculptured from rich terra-cotta clay that is kiln fired. Wow! Sounds like there is some ancient Chinese secrets to Chia making. I guess so, since when I turned Screech over it said “Made in China”.
So while Screech is gasping for air, i thought you’d like to know all the wonderful Chias you can get. They have Chia Elmer Fudd, Taz, Tweety, bunny, hippo, cow, kitten, dinosaur, pig, elephant, puppy, frog, turtle, tree, lion cub, guy, professor, clown, kid, and terra cotta herb garden. This wonderful company also makes the VCR co-pilot and The Clapper.

Yay for Chia!
Rick and I have a friend whom we call “Miss Fudd.” We got her a Chia Fudd a few years ago. I don’t think she ever actually Chia’d her Fudd though.

Yeah, I know you can put them on a sammich also, but what ELSE can you do with them? Stir fry???
Nicole, did you know that the WB characters cost one dollar more than the others? Outrageous!

I can’t believe you opened it! I gave my sister-in-law a chia Einstein for Xmas 3 years ago, and it has been passed around every year since. Our fear is that one of the nephews is going to get it and sprout it, and we won’t be able to regift it anymore.

Ha! I was just talking about Screech the other day- saying, “I can’t remember the actor’s name, but it sounds like a porn star’s name.” As soon as I get offline I’m going to call my similarly-bugged-she-can’t-remember freind and trumpet a bit.

Oh my GOD! That is too hilarious…I could never quite put my finger on who that Chia head resembled, but now the mystery is solved!! I have also learned that I can use Chia as a verb, as in, “to Chia the pet” Neato!
