Spring Time Around San Antonio
I am pretending that these pictures were taken in my backyard, but I cannot tell a lie. These pictures were taken by a fellow San Antonio gardener who knows way more about gardening than I ever will, and this is his yard. One day my yard will look like this. It may be 30 years from now, but it will, damn it! Note that I didn’t include any pictures of my sorry looking flower beds.
Enjoy!
Jasmine climbing up an oak tree with a Mountain Laurel tree (which smell wonderful!) in the background. For some reason, oak trees here lose their leaves in the spring. We just raked up at least 20 bags of leaves. Now they are dropping all their wormy looking pollen everywhere.

Wisteria. Who knew San Antonio was really in the English countryside? Very romantic!

Check out this butterfly! I’ve never seen one this color on my side of town! J.P. is that a Monarch?

I’m jealous!

Definitely not a monarch but I don’t know enough about butterflies to know what it actually is.

Hey, that’s a spicebush swallowtail.

Thanks, Lena! I’ve never seen them around here, but apparently they are.
