Frozen Red Tip

September 1, 2001.

In my last entry I was talking about how it hadn’t rained in a long time and everything was fried to a crisp. At that time I had given up and didn’t care anymore. Well, for the past 3 days it has been pouring outside. Something is parked right over my house and it ain’t budging. It has poured for the last 5 hours. And my kitchen door is leaking. And the ants are getting flushed out of their homes because I’m finding them inside. And I really need to clean up the kitchen.

So anyway, I decided to treat my indoor plants to some chemical free water and I stuck them outside. I am waiting for them to float away. Or drown. Part of my yard is one big giant puddle. I’m sure they have gotten enough rain by now, but I decided to leave them outside for awhile. Who knows when they’ll get the good stuff like this again? I wonder if rain water is like a drug to them. "Woo! Chemical free water! I’m feeling fun-kay!" That's what I would say if I was one my plants.

I’m also wondering how I’m gonna get the big pots in. You see, when you don’t water plants in big pots, they are pretty light. But add water to them and presto! Instant dead weight. I put them outside on the front walk. I’m going to have to move them fairly soon because someone is coming over later and I don’t want to get sued for someone tripping over my big ass pots. Either that or someone will steal them.

My ficus must be in absolute heaven because I can’t even begin to tell you when the last time was I watered that thing. I’ve been a bad, bad gardener. I was considering bringing it inside, but I honestly don’t think I could fit it through the door. Plus, I’d probably break my back. And I’m sure my youngest would pull off the leaves anyway. He’s naughty like that sometimes.

So if any of you that are in Texas happen to see one my plants floating by, please be kind enough to send it back to me. Thank you.
