Fall is here. So why is it still so damn hot?

As promised, I finally got around to my fall planting. I went to my favorite nusery and was disappointed. They hardly had anything! WTF?? It's (was) only September...in TEXAS! It's still in the mid to upper 80s here. I did see my favorite toothless wonder woman there, so it made the trip worth it. I think she may be down to one tooth now, though.

I did manage to spend $40 on their not too much variety of flowers, however. I bought:

Blue plumbago, ultra blue star petunias, impatiens, orange pansy, carpet mix petunia, glorious mix petunia, pink chiffon petunia, cobalt lobelia, petunia pig, and begonias.

Hee! Hee! Did you catch that?

Damn, I'm witty. So the moral of the story is...I bought a ton of petunias. Or was it pansies? I always get those two mixed up when I look at them, but according to my list, it was petunias. Oh, and I bought some marigold and marigold seeds, cactus seeds and coleus seeds. I also have a mystery flower. I threw out the stick so I have no idea what it is.

No, Erika. I didn't take any pictures!

I'm sure the flowers won't last very long, though. My front yard is the football yard of the street. I'm always threatening that heads will roll if they break my flowers and/or crape myrtles. (I've been spelling that wrong for years!). The kids all chime in that they will be careful. Yeah, right.

Little shits.
