Surprise!
One reason I hate to plant from seed is because I am too impatient to wait for them to bloom. That doesn't mean I don't occasionally buy seeds, because I do. The problem is that I don't bother to follow the directions. I just throw them down anywhere and don't worry about the spacing, etc. I like to live dangerously. Which might explain why I'm always transplanting.
The other day I noticed I had some blue flowers blooming. I remember some time last year I threw down some seeds, but nothing ever popped up. I googled (I guess that's a word now) 'blue flowers', but didn't find anything. Then I thought that maybe, just maybe, I saved the seed packet. And for once in my life, I did!
I have forget me not blooming. And somewhere out of the blue some dianthus showed up. I think I had some of those last year, but I think they croaked. I know it definitely wasn't in the spot that it showed up. So to keep myself living on the edge, I threw down some four o'clock seeds. I know I've tried growing those before with no luck.
I've got a bunch of teeny, tiny, leetle tomatoes growing! Dude, from a plant that I started from SEED! True to form, I started a bunch at a time without much thought into and only two plants survived. They are doing much better than the plants I bought from my favorite nursery. I can't wait to eat some tomatoes that have some flavor.
Something has been eating my marigolds. And when it eats the flower, the whole plant dies. I don't think it is my friends, the squirrels, though. And they must be doing it night, sneaky bastards. I'd be extremely pissed, but marigolds are so easy to grow that I really don't care.
Umm...I'm pretty sure my bargain orchidt is toast. I suck. Please save the "I told you so" emails.
So now that it is May (well, tomorrow), I am pleased to announce the beginning of the 6th annual "I hate Texas" celebration. Let the sweating begin.
