Chia Head and Screech--Separated at Birth?

Happy New Year, everyone!

So one of my Christmas presents was a Chia Head. My brother and sister got me one as a joke (why, I don't know because we don't exchange presents. Too many nieces and nephews). They were somewhat disappointed that I was thrilled to get one, though. I've always wanted a Chia!

However, I couldn't help noticing that Chia Head looks a lot like Screech from Saved By the Bell.

Scary, ain't it?

So, we just got back from 10 days in So. Cali visiting my family. My mom had a really cool poinsettia that I have never seen before. It was a rose poinsettia. They are way prettier than the standard kind. I will have to look for one next year.

I asked and recieved a book called How Not to Kill Your Houseplants and man, could I have not recieved this book at a better time.

Now I know I've been bragging all over the place about getting things to bloom without any effort, but damn, when I got home the other day, it was like a morgue in here.

My cyclaman has totally bit the dust. For some reason, the soil in that pot has never dried out. It's toast. My snake plant had about 6 mushy leaves. I gave it a good watering a few weeks ago. I guess it didn't like it. My China plant was half dead. And the zebra plant fainted again.

But my bargain orchid is still blooming!
