Send us some rain
My poor little garden has barely survived summer. It seems the only things to thrive are the weeds in the lawn. I have a few flowers that seem to be managing ok -- dahlias and impatiens but even my corn has dried out in the vegie patch. I did get a decent crop of capsicum though and my pumpkin plants are thriving.
Mostly it has been my fault, being too lazy for regular watering with the hose and I feel bad. A few plants that I have treasured for years are just withered stalks now. I feel like a bad, bad gardener.
On the upside, I guess, the plants that have survived are going to be incredibly drought resistant. If we get another hot, dry Summer then they will be prepared.
