 | | I have completely gone berserk with this tomato thing. This morning I found
myself rushing to Hortus before work to take in leaf samples with
bugs on them. It turns out they are just aphids, I had never seen them in a
rust color before, or with wings. Apparently all I need to do is blast them
off with the hose.
I find myself checking on the plants twice a day, waiting with anticipation
for some signs of growth. I feel this enormous pressure to have an amazing
vegetable garden this year, mostly because I don't want to disappoint Ula.
Partially because I failed miserably last year, I grossly neglected the
plants. This year I am paying too much attention. if only I could find some
sort of middle ground.
I had great luck on pots at the thrift stores this week. I have been really
into buying pots in the shape of animals. I found one in the shape of a
hippo and one matching pair of a duck and rooster. Then I went overboard and
bought a frog pot on Ebay.
I think at this point I have to stop with the animal shapes because it is
starting to get out of control, but they are really funny. I just can't help
myself. I am sure my neighbors hate me by now. The only thing left to buy is
a gazing ball, some pink flamingos and maybe a big, giant, ceramic deer.
