Once again it looks like this entry is going to be another list of events. I get an idea for an entry in places where I can't write it down, like in the shower or when I'm just about to fall asleep. So of course by the time I get around to it I forget what it was. I have been joking about installing a white board in my shower so I can take notes, but that sounds so corporate and cheesy. My brain tends to clear up in the shower because I'm not racing to get stuff done.

So I was going to carve jack-o-lanterns on Halloween but I naively left the getting of the actual pumpkins until too late. How was I to know they'd be all gone? I haven't carved a pumpkin since 1991. I'm embarrassed to admit the carving was of a giant marijuana leaf and the pumpkin was given to me by my room mate/boyfriend-at-the-time's parents from their garden. I need to clarify that I wasn't in charge of selecting the imagery for the pumpkin so give me a break. We weren't cheesy-marijuanna-iconography-on-our-clothes-kids at the time either. It was just funny. Do you think that's why no kids came to our door and we just HAD to eat the entire bowl of chocolates ourselves?

FlowersThe other day I was innocently sitting where I am right now, working on this site and the buzzer rang. The guy said he had a delivery for me and I thought, "Oh shit, it's that donut and coffee charm I bought off ebay for my charm bracelet and now I'm going to have to cough up duty on it". Well when I opened the door I was shocked to discover that it was a beautiful bouquet of flowers. I was stunned, because I've never had flowers delivered to me before. I've received flowers form people, but never by delivery. It was from Saskatchewan. That woman has class with a capital "C". They were really nice flowers too. An unusual assortment of sunflower, orchids, a rose, snapdragons, and freesia. I did get the donut and coffee charm the next day, and I didn't have to pay duty on it.

Pressed ViolaYesterday Davin went out on business and mid afternoon video game playing and came back with a stack of pressed flowers attached to card stock that he found on the curb. Apparently I'm not the only garbage picker in the family. The flowers are all different varieties of viola. Some are better than others and some are falling apart, but they're good.

Jesus and the plantsWhile I'm on the topic of garbage stuff, again-- I found this holographic image of Jesus while on a walk one night. I put it out on the deck behind some plants. I don't have any religious beliefs, but I like to create little shrines. That's a succulent below it. I also took some pictures of my plant-filled windows to post here today but they look like crap so forget it.
