Exploits in Non-Gardening

Where have I been in the last few months?

Well I can tell you where I haven't been and that's in the garden. 2003 has marked my busiest/laziest year of gardening. It started with a bang. I had three gardens on the go. But around harvest time my attention dwindled, work got busy, life got busy and I became more neglectful to my garden duties then ever before. I went through some of the motions; bringing in the plants that overwinter indoors, cleaning out some of the pots on the deck, harvesting all the veggies, drying herbs and packaging dried herbs. And that's about where I left off. I did not prep my plants for winter, I didn't even remove the stakes from the community plot. Now the ground is frozen and removing them is probably near impossible.

I'm trying to turn a positive spin on all this neglect. I'm pretending this is an experiment to find out what happens in my zone when the rules are thrown out the window, plants aren't cut back and beds aren't prepared for the cold, harsh weather.

As far as indoor plants go things are looking good. The grow lights are on, the plants are all tucked into their place for winter, I have been watering and doing my duty. I brought the carnivorous bog indoors a while back and my cat ate the entire, and rather large bog grass that had mysteriously popped up over the summer... and lived (it mustn't be poisoness).
