Revolution Tomato
Inspired by my new favourite product; Muir Glen's Fire Roasted Tomato Sauce, I oven roasted a bunch of tomatoes with a drizzle of olive oil and then crushed it all through the old-fashioned food mill (wood thing with cone-shaped metal thing). I am never making tomato sauce the traditional blanch-it-peel-it way ever again. That shit is bland in comparison. I didn't add my usual clove of garlic or basil and it was still unbelievable! Try it for yourself.

I read several chapters of "Oaxaca Journal" on Saturday afternoon but worked myself into such a pity party over our not going to Oaxaca for Day of the Dead this year, that I had to put the book down. I haven't touched it since then. I just can't bear to let my mind wander off to all the potential adventures I could be getting up to, all the plants I could be seeing...
I thought I had a keen eye for spotting plants. I thought I was the biggest geek out there, but apparently I don't even come close. I may not be able to identify every plant I come upon, but I thought that surely I was pretty high on the geek list based on pure enthusiasm alone. I was wrong. The people described in this book take it to a whole other level I didn't even know was possible. I suppose my other interests, such as decaying, rusty metal, ornate detailing and handpainted signage are getting in the way. If I was just focussing on the flora alone...
