No More Food From My Garden
Ever since I stopped getting the organic produce box delivery I've been on the look-out for local farmer's markets from which I can buy organic produce. For the last few months I've been going to one located next to the Food Share offices across the street from CityTV. A local organic farmer sells his produce as well as nuts, dried fruit, organic fish and other goodies at great prices that are much cheaper than what I pay at my favourite health food store.
I just found out that there is going to be a Farmer's Market in Parkdale this coming Thursday (info can be found in the plant links section on the homepage. This is the second event. Sadly I missed the first. I'm really excited that I just have to walk a minute or two from this very desk to buy my food rather than having to leave the neighbourhood to do it. I hope this becomes a regular thing in Parkdale. We've needed something like this desperately for a long time.

Looks like my tomato and tomatillo harvest is done. It is really cold here now and I've had to pick all the green tomatoes that were left. It's sad to see another year come to a close. I already miss sitting out on the deck drinking green tea and picking basil off of stems to make pesto. It's time to place all my energy and focus on the indoor plants again. Tears. Even the cat keeps sitting at the window and crying and giving me looks that say "Why aren't you coming out with me?" and "It's all your fault it's so cold out there isn't it?" I'm pretty positive she thinks I'm responsible for bad weather.
