Harvest Time

I never thought it could be possible, but I managed to successfully grow veggies without fertilizers and chemical additives.

Just yesterday I plucked a few roma tomatoes and a huge English cucumber
from the vine. I made fresh salsa with my new
peppers and green onions.

Because I've planted sweet basil, spicy basil and cinnamon basil, I can add a special zest to sauces and salads.

I can make mojitos and mint tea with all the varieties of
mint
I have growing in various pots around the deck.

It's an amazing feeling to know I can go right out the back door and harvest organically-grown herbs and veggies.

I find myself starting out the window at all the flowers, herbs and veggies in containers and I smile.

A couple of years ago I could barely keep a typical houseplant alive. Today I feel like Old MacDonald. Now all I need are some chickens to complete the scene.
