I Hate the Sun
Eveyone knows I'm a little on the Goth side, but I really really hate the sun today.
Apparently, humans aren't the only ones who can get sunburned. Half my deck garden is dead thanks to a weird heat wave that's hit Northern California with a vengeance.
Mark Twain once said the coldest winter he ever spent was a summer in San Francisco. I guess Mother Nature doesn't read much Twain.
So I spent the last 2 hours frantically watering my container plants, snipping dead flowers and herbs, and crying to my bewildered dog.
Why me? I was doing so well! My mint that I had planned on snipping to make Mojitos for my upcoming birthday party is now dead
My flowers that made me smile with their cheery blossoms now look more like crunchy, paper flowers.
At least my tomatoes and
peppers
are okay...(knock on wood).
*sigh*
Even my garden gnome looked up at me pleadingly. I felt like I should leave him a cold beer. Poor fella.
So any tips on how to water plants in a heatwave without OVERwatering them?
