i planted these from seed awhile back but the bed i planted them in is full of weeds that i decided to just let grow in since i have no idea what the everlasting pea seedlings look like. i thought these 3 that came up were it but they look rather thick (like squash) so i'm guessing those are not my peas after all. (are there any 'weeds' that look like squash? i'm guessing maybe they are runaway squash after all..)

does anyone have a photo of what everlasting pea seedlings look like? thanks!

I am unsure what they look like but am pretty sure they do not look similar to squash. I think everlasting peas and sweet peas although different look similar, so maybe as seedlings they resemble each other quite a bit. Check out the sweet peas thread on the second page where pictures are posted - maybe that may help. Wink Also, were the seeds quite large? If so did you nick/soak them?

hi, my neighbour has a whole plot full of those.
The everlasting pea seedling looks...like a sweet pea seedling, of which it is a cousin.
It's a vine-ish seedling.
The leaves are...round-oval, even the seedleaves. The regular leaves are oval in shape.
A good indication that you have this seedling is to take a look at the stem when it's bigger.
It's...um...grooved (what's a better word?!)....it isn't just like a normal stem, but it looks like a grooved or v-shaped on the stem.
even better, wait till they're bigger, and you'll see tendrils (tiny green stems that curl) because they're trying to catch onto a fence.
Yikes. hope I haven't confused you further. Lynn
