The Ontario Herbalists Association Annual Herb Fair is coming Sunday June 6, 12-6 at HarbourFront.

Anyone plan to go and if so do you want to try and organize it as a meet-up?

The job situation has changed yet again so I am now available to come to the herb fair. Yay! Yes, let's do a meet-up. Smile

Ha! Okay I'll be sure to wear something else. Our new YGG shirts just came in so I'll wear that instead.

To those attending the Herb Fair meet-up: I've got a bunch of transplants I will gladly bring for those who are interested. No trading or compensation required. I have:

- Lemon Catnip
- Anise Hyssop
- Lemon Balm
- Oregano

Email me if you're interested so I can pot them up and bring them on Sunday. Please indicate how much you would like.

Even though it's getting late in the season bring along any seeds you might want to trade.

I'd love some of the catnip! I LOVE how generous gardeners are.

The herb fair was pretty good and I had a lot of fun meeting Gayla and chatting with her about our plants. She gave me some Blue Jade Corn seeds but I haven't planted them yet. Here's what I added today:

Striped German Tomato
Strawberry Orange Tomato
Lemon Cucumber
Candy Lime Mint
Alpine Strawberry
Scented Geranium-Nutmeg
Scented Geranium-Cinnamon
Scented Geranium-Apple
Lesbos Basil

Photo here.

Wow you're fast! I did manage to get most of my plants into containers this evening but no photos yet.

My list is too long to write up here but I will say that I also bought a bunch of scented geraniums, sages, tomatoes, various basils, mexican coriander, a really neat thyme that smells like roses.

Oh and I got lemon cucumber and then remembered when I got home that I have some seedlings going. Now I have too many.

The Herb Fair is back this Sunday June 4, 2006.

Sarah, Assertagirl, and I will be in the same place... in front of the outdoor bathrooms at 1pm. We can meet, exchange plants and seeds, shop, grab a bite to eat...

Hollar if you think you can make it.

I'll be there!

I will probably come with my Mom!

I have dried rose petals for Assertagirl's wedding and some lemon verbena to trade with Calliek!

Any one else want lemon verbena? or feverfew (pretty sure I have more than I need!)?

I'll try to make it for 1 by the Bathrooms but if not I know what you ladies look like!

See you sunday!

Vanmessa I'll have some of your feverfew if there's some going and Gayla I'd love some of your lemon balm. I'm ashamed to say I have nothing plant wise to trade, Anzac cookie anyone?

I don't think I'll be able to bring any plants, but I'll try. I'm coming to Toronto tomorrow afternoon directly after work, and will be in the city until herb fair time. So any plants will be sitting in the car or at my friend's place until then...

Basically oatmeal & raisin cookies. My Aussie friend gave me the recipe hence the name. 100% vegan and 100% yummy according to the man in-doors. There again he'll eat anything.

Thanks. I have morning glory in my garden already. The name always makes me laugh as in England it refers to a certain thing that happens to some men first thing in the morning. I'm not sure it means the same in Canada

anzac (Australian and New Zealand Army Corps) cookies are very hearty and wholesome. just the thing you'd want to eat in the trenches. but imo the batter is better than the cookie. my housemates and i would make these but just eat the batter and never cook any... :)

i'd love to go to that herb fair guys! let me live vicariously through you, and take lots of lovely photos of your haul!

I hope to make it over to my community plot before Sunday and will dig up some lemon balm. No one should ever have to buy lemon balm given how prolific it is!
