Just thought I'd post this up as it's quite a good indoor activity now the weather's turned decidedly autumnal (translation - fall-like!).

Basically it's a plastic bottle with the top cut off and turned upside down in the top of the other section to form a sort of saucer to put the carrot top in. You can put water in this and I also put some sand in it to form a good base to sit the carrot top on.

Also, wondered if anyone had experience of growing them in more interesting ways or indeed other 'tops' such as parsnip or pineapple.

Did you paint the bunny on the container? I don't get it. Wouldn't you have to plant two carrot tops to make them look like bunny ears?

The carrot top throws out several shoots which get long and curve down a bit - I just encourage half to flop down either side - you can tie the ends with twine if you want to exaggerate the effect.
