Ciao all-

Well, these guys aren't livestock, but they do come under the CAT-egory of a petting zoo since there are four of them. It's amazing how fast kittens grow!

Ciao all-

Yessss, we're keeping all of them. Originally, we had intended to keep the two grey/white ones, but no one came forward to adopt the other two together and we didn't want to separate them, they'd been through enough. I found them in a wood pile 2 doors down from us on Easter Monday. They were born outside and were close to starving. I never saw a cat in that area after rescuing them so I think something tragic must have happened to Mom or Mom's owner moved with her. We have a wonderful veterinarian who knows our meager budget and is working with us so we can get all of their care done this year.

Awww... They are adorable! I love kittens. I wish they would stay small. About 10 weeks old is the PURRfect age. Laughing

I work at a veterinary hospital, and I can't even tell you how many animals come through that are in need of good homes. I almost took a kitten that came in with broken ribs from a dog attack, but luckily it found a good home with an older couple. It's so hard not to bring home every animal in need. Sad

Good for you for saving these little guys Sorellina! You know that once you have more than three cats, your officially the "cat lady" on the street, right? Very Happy

aw, good on you for taking them in. those who are kind to the most helpless (animals and people) are always repaid, if you know what i mean. Smile

we just adopted two brother kittens too! they just turned 4 months old. it's cute how your litter is all different with the exception of the gray kitties. mine are twins. they are both black and white. the only differences in coloring are on their hind legs (one has a spot) and tummies. you can only tell by their personalities and collars. Wink

how are yours doing with your indoor plants? i've pretty much trained mine not to play with the foliage or dig in most of them, but they still won't leave my ponytail palm alone. Sad

Oh yeah, but I've had cats all my life and I've always been a little bit crazy, so I'm good with the moniker. Wink

I don't have houseplants. I'm really good with anything outside, whether in containers or in the ground, but I kill houseplants. I can grow things to the transplant stage, but after that, they must leave the house and go off to university. Wink

Ciao all-

My kittens are such nutbars, I had to share some of the funny expressions they make.

Grace: "I'm bigger." Michael: "Oh yeah, I'm more svelter."

Image

Anna Bella: "Hehe."

Image

Francis: "Oooh, pet me, Mommy!"

Image

Grace: "I made that yawn up. I'm not tired, no really."

Image

Anna Bella: "When you're smiling, the whole world smiles with you."

Ciao all-

It's been a bit since the last photos. The kids are bigger, becoming more precocious and getting into things a lot more now. They push their limits (and ours) each day, surprising us constantly with new things they can do (and destroy).

Anna wanting to help me prep vegetables for my canning efforts

Michael can sleep anywhere, any which way

Image

I couldn't find the bungie cords so we used some camping rope in an attempt to kitten-proof the lower kitchen cupboards. Grace knows her food is stored in there and tries to get in

Image

This isn't as close as the kids have gotten to Mario Le Mew, our 15 year old Maine Coon. Occasionally, he has the patience to let them touch noses or play with his tail, but most of the time, they still get a hiss or a swat if they get too much into his personal space. He IS softening, at his slow, elderly pace, though

Image

Francis loves this cardboard box I use for transporting stuff from Costco. I'm preparing myself for the day when he will fill up the entire box with himself. He's just huge for a 6 month old kitten

Ciao all-

The girls have now gotten spayed so everyone's done for the year with all of their veterinary needs. They bounced off the walls with their e-collars for a week and were very unimpressed at how difficult it was to eat and drink with the collars on, but they're off now and their fur is already growing back at a rapid rate.

Here are a few photos of that time. I got 4 dungeness crabs at the Asian market for crab marinara sauce. The babies had no idea what they were, but they knew they were alive and that they definitely smelled like food. How exactly to kill them and eat them was the big question they all had in their feline minds.

Are you going to eat him or what?

I was right, you are food
