The same basket exactly a month ago. As predicted we are eating them everyday on salads.

They’re currently in bloom and I’ve been finding it difficult to walk by one without lifting a camera to my face.

Ice Plant (Carpobrotus edulis)

I know these are bad. They’re the scourge of the California Coast and whatnot. But they sure are pretty, especially when they’re blooming. Which is what they were doing when I was there in April.

English Daisy (Bellis perennis)

I took this picture back in April on a trip to San Francisco — I only just scanned the film this weekend. These daisies were completely covering the grassy area behind a MUNI stop where I was waiting for a bus. And so, amazed by the blanket of color, I proceeded to crouch in the grass with several cameras splayed around me to capture it. English Daisies don’t just up and grow in the grass on their own here! Some gardeners actually buy them in pots and put them in the garden on purpose.

Plus it was spring and I was riding off a constant living things and colors high. Everything was beautiful. Three months into the growing season and that high hasn’t worn off.

Dill Flowers

More dill. I’m in love with it at this stage, giant, delicate parasols that sway in the breeze catching insects.
