Mixed Up My Peas

I’m not going to relate the story of how this happened; however, it involved wasting an inordinate amount of time taking photos of the pea varieties I had planned to grow this year, followed by doing something exceptionally stupid. I did manage to identify two of the five varieties, but the rest are now in an envelop marked, ‘Edible Pea Grab Bag.’

They’re pretty though, right?

  1. Very pretty.

Also, I have the same tea towels. :)

  2. Very pretty. Perhaps the photo partly makes up for the mix-up?

  3. Have you ever found yourself wishing for whirled peas?

  4. … someone could write a Stephen Leacock award-worthy humourous book titled The First Million Ways to Mix Up Seeds Without Trying … even with the best of intentions, it’s actually exceedingly difficult to get a plant from seed to garden with a proper label still intact – in my experience

…it makes perfect sense that if you take your babies out to play and then turn your back on them for even a second … with or without your camera on them the whole time … well

  5. Ah well, at least they look purty all mixed up together. You could sort them by color/size and hope for the best in terms of matching them up?? Good luck, I like the “grab bag” idea anyway.

  6. Totally worth the mix-up for the beautiful photo.

  7. I got all my tomato varieties bought from the Amish mixed up after splitting them up with people yesterday. Somehow I ended up with all the ones without the labels. Here’s hoping the one in the hanging basket is indeed the 100-supersweet cherry. I figure the romas and better boys will reveal themselves. oops!

  8. They do look nice, and I’m sure it’ll be visually interesting when they start to get going :)

  9. I love the look of pea seeds! Gorgeous!

  10. Well, at least the picture is beautiful!
