I tried growing corn for the first time ever and my alien gourd plants ate them. I mean, they shot straight for the corn, climbed it, covered it, and in no time you could not see a single corn plant. I am trying it again this year, but I will keep the gourds in check this time. As for the pre-teen boy thing, well, isn't gardening supposed to be fun? ;-) Too funny!
