I suppose I will have to put it back on The List as a tentative addition and try again. Of course, if I had the chance to try a raw cacao again I would anyways, so no sweat.

		<description>From the picture of the cocoa pod, I can tell you that it was an over ripe pod.  I grew up with lots and lots of cocoa trees and the ripe beans are soft, sweet and delicious.  The beans you had were growing in the pod.  It&#039;s like having you peas germinate while in the pod. 
I still have fun and exciting flash backs of us racing to open the ripe cocoa bean after picking them from the tree, opening them and enjoying the juicey, delicious soft cocoa bean.
Sorry you did not have that experience.
